  • Vitamin A
    2100 IU

    This potent vitamin is integral for healthy hair growth, glowing skin and strong nails.  Its scientific name is Palmitate and it helps to improve the blood’s circulation to skin and scalp. Circulation is crucial for stimulating healthy hair growth and sluggish blood circulation slows down the hair’s growth cycle.  A known anti-oxidant, vitamin A also fights against free radicals which attack the skin cells.  Vitamin A also encourages sebum production which is the skin’s natural oil and this is excellent for conditioning hair and scalp as well as for boosting the hair and skin’s overall health.

  • Vitamin C
    20 mg

    This anti-oxidant vitamin (otherwise known as Ascorbic Acid) is essential for good quality hair, skin and nails as it encourages strength and resilience.  Hair needs iron to grow well and Vitamin C is used by the body to absorb iron.  Fighting against free-radicals, Vitamin C also protects skin, hair and nails from attack and builds collagen which is essential for youthful looking skin and strong hair too.  Vitamin C also helps skin to retain its elasticity, reduce fine lines and wrinkles soit glows with good health.

  • Vitamin D
    400 IU

    Healthy hair and skin needs Vitamin D as low levels are linked to alopecia (patchy hair loss).  There is also evidence that shows Vitamin D can increase the number of new follicles in the scalp.  However, many people are deficient in Vitamin D as it mainly comes from natural sunlight.  Our Beauty and the Bear vitamins include Vitamin D as an essential element for healthy hair growth and great skin.

  • Vitamin E
    16.5 IU

    Healthy hair, skin and nails need Vitamin E, which acts similarly to Vitamin C in providing the body with armour against nasty free radicals.  An anti-oxidant vitamin, it encourages better blood circulation to the scalp and to the epidermis, boosting hair growth and supporting the hair, skin and nails with what they each need to stay healthy.  Hair that is well-nourished with Vitamin E should be stronger and less likely to break when under stress.

  • Vitamin B6

    B-vitamins are essential for healthy looking, good quality hair.  B6 is used by the body to develop red blood cells and transport oxygen to the scalp.  This gives the hair follicles what they need to encourage healthy hair growth.  B6 activates a chemical reaction to ensure hair follicles receive the necessary proteins to grow, namely, keratin and melanin.  B6 is essential for great looking hair.

  • Folic Acid

    Folic acid (Vitamin B9) is one of the B Vitamins and deficiency of folic acid is linked to hair loss. Hair does need folic acid to maintain its overall health.  B9 also works hard to repair the body’s DNA, supporting cell division and keeping hair follicles healthy.  Folic Acid will combat thinning hair and is one of our magical ingredients in the Beauty and the Bear range.

  • Vitamin B12

    Another B Vitamin, B12 is used to help transport oxygen through red blood cells to the scalp and give the scalp what it needs to encourage healthy hair growth.  Known for boosting energy levels too, it’s an excellent all-round Vitamin for positive wellbeing.

  • Biotin

    This well-known hair Vitamin is essential for good quality hair. Responsible for helping the scalp to retain its health, Biotin produces fatty acids which are essential for promoting a healthy scalp.  A deficiency in Biotin could result in dandruff, brittle hair and flaky skin.  Biotin also supports the hair’s natural protein, Keratin and hair, skin and nails need Keratin to stay strong and resilient.By synthesising the proteins in the body, Biotin is believed to improve the hair’s thickness and strength so it grows longer without breakage; deficiency is often the reason why hair only grows to a certain length.

  • Pantothenic Acid

    This is Vitamin B5 and works hard to improve hair’s natural growth combatting shedding and breakage.  Hair that lacks B5 won’t grow very fast or steadily and will likely shed and break, B5 helps to convert proteins into nourishment for your body’s cells and uses this nourishment to arm your hair with what it needs to look good and grow properly.  B5 keeps hair looking shiny and lustrous as it nourishes from within giving hair great natural sheen.

  • Zinc

    An essential vitamin for healthy hair, skin and nails, it plays a vital role in hair tissue growth and repair.  Zinc’s responsibilities include keeping the oil glands working properly so that follicles produce healthy hair.  A Zinc deficiency is often the reason behind hair loss, hair breakage and thinning because the lack of Zinc weakens the hair follicles.  Taking Zinc will improve moisture levels in your scalp so hair follicles have the right environment to produce healthy looking hair.  A dry, itchy and flaky scalp only adds to hair problems.

  • Iodine

    Iodine is converted into hormones by the thyroid and is essential for healthy skin and hair but deficiency in iodine or an underactive thyroid means that skin and hair weakens.  Often one of the reasons behind hair loss, iodine can boost healthy hair growth and keep skin looking fresh and youthful.

  • Choline

    One of the B Vitamins, Choline is essential in providing hair follicles with the nutrients they need to promote better, healthier hair growth.  It is the hair follicles’ natural hair strengthener and helps hair to retain its moisture which in turn, keeps its condition soft and manageable.  Without Choline, hair grows through brittle which is why it is prone to breakage.  Hair needs Choline to grow long and strong.
